Monday 16th April will see the inaugural meeting of our Book Club at All Saint’s lovely Cake Break. So, if you love reading, and would enjoy a good natter about books over tea and cake, please do come along and join us.
Our first book will be Matt Haig’s How to Stop Time. How to Stop Time is a Sunday Times Bestseller and a Richard and Judy Book Club Pick. It’s the story of Tom Hazard, who has a dangerous secret. Tom looks like an ordinary 41-year-old but has a rare condition. He’s been alive for centuries. Tom has lived history – performing with Shakespeare, exploring the high seas with Captain Cook, and sharing cocktails with Fitzgerald. Now, he just wants an ordinary life. But, of course, things are never that simple…….
According to its publishers, How to Stop Time is “a bighearted, wildly original novel about losing and finding yourself, the inevitability of change, and how with enough time to learn, we just might find happiness.”
Hopefully, it will prove as popular with Lydiard Millicent readers.
We’ll also be discussing what books we’d like to read next. So, please come along and join us, whether you’ve read How to Stop Time or not.
Monday, 16 April, All Saints Church, 2 – 4pm.
